Alignment
NonProfits exist in a constantly shifting landscape, to respond most organizations are continually adjusting strategy, structure, staffing pattern, board composition, programs, funding sources and stakeholder engagement.
Within this reality, its challenging to keep the Vision, Mission, Strategy, Programs and Structure in alignment. Organizations benefit from periodically taking a step back to assess whether any functional or structural re-alignment is needed.
Re-Alignment is not strategic planning, yet implementation of strategic plans often requires a process of re-alignment to ensure that resources, structure and process are organized in a manner that enables an organization to meet the goals and aspirations outlined in a strategic plan. Successful re-alignment requires working through complexities such as multiple funding sources, engaged stakeholders, program legacies, community politics and staff readiness. Through this process of reflection and adjustment the organizations’ structure, strategies and programs are aligned in support of its mission and goals.
